3 Things To Remember When Designing Your Website

Websites are a very important part of business nowadays. With that being said, here are three essential things your business website must include:

1. Internal Search Engine

I’ll kick things off with, what I think, is the most important aspect of a website. It’s a very tiny feature that many of you may not even notice. If you go to a website, you almost expect there to be a little search bar for you to search for things. However, I have come across some sites where there is no internal search engine. So, if I want to find something specific, I need to wade through various menus and keep scrolling until I find it. Unsurprisingly, this makes me hate a website.

With a search engine, you give users the ability to find whatever they’re looking for. It will take them a matter of seconds to search and find the thing they want. It’s not even difficult to install one on your site; it’s one of the most basic features of web design. If you don’t have an internal search engine, then you’re going about things in the wrong way.

2. Postcode Finder

This next thing is something that I love to come across when I’m using a website. If I ever have to type my address in, it’s so much easier when the website has a postcode finder on there. I just pop a few numbers and letters in and my address comes up and saves me having to type in every last detail! You need to make sure your website has a postcode address finder api embedded in your site. It’s a small thing that will make a huge difference. No one likes spending five minutes typing in their entire address.

What can you use it for? Well, you can use it if you have an option for people to create an account on your site. Or, if someone is buying something from your website and needs to type in their delivery address. Of course, you may have it so people can get directions to your business from your website! A postcode finder has lots of uses and is an essential part of web design.

3. Contact Information Section

If you’re designing a website, you need to think about what menus and different sections you’re going to have. For me, you absolutely must include a contact information section. It doesn’t have to be a big thing, just a simple page with all the information people need. It can tell people where to find you and how they can get ahold of you. It’s pretty obvious what the main problem is if you don’t have a contact section. People won’t be able to contact you. Your business could end up missing out on potential customers because they have no way of reaching out to you.

On your contact section, you need to include all the different ways someone can contact you. I’m talking about your telephone number, email, and links to various social media platforms. You should also have a map showing where your business headquarters are if anyone fancies visiting you in person.
