In the world of hospitality, however, you don’t have the time or the luxury of saving your cash. To reduce your inevitable spending spree, try and buy whatever you can from wholesalers. Buying wholesale table runners to wholesale plates and eating utensils will save you thousands a year.
3. Use One Employee For More Than One Job
The good thing about hospitality is the fact that some of the jobs are not specialist jobs. Of course, you can hire one person to perform the job, but that adds to the payroll. Instead, merge two roles into one. For example, ask the people at the front desk to help guests with the bags or coats, or ask them to show them to their rooms. You only need one person at reception to take care of bookings and general admin work. Plus, they should be able to cope on their own for a few minutes.
