4 Ways To Improve Your Website Today

4 Ways To Improve Your Website TodaySource: Wikipedia

One of the major things affecting the success of any business is the appearance of their website. Having a good looking website can attract potential customers and keep people on your site. If you have an bad website, then potential customers are likely to spend less time on it and look for a better one. It doesn’t matter how good your product/service is if you have an ugly website, customers aren’t going to go for you. So, how do I make my website look attractive? There are certain steps you can take to improve the look of your website, here are my picks:

1. Modernise

Make your site look modern, make it look like it’s a website from 2015 and not 2005. If your business hasn’t updated its site design for a few years, chances are it’s going to look old. An old fashioned website design makes it look like you don’t know what you’re doing or don’t care. Customers want a business that cares, and if you don’t care for your site how do they know you’ll care for them. Building customer relationships is key for businesses, and a modern site can be the building blocks of a good relationship. If you don’t know how to make your site look modern, you can elicit the help of a web design company.

2. Fonts

Picking the right font is key to a good website. You need to pick one suitable for your business. If you run a serious business, for example, an Undertaker’s, you shouldn’t be using a font like Comic Sans. This is too lively a font and does not set the right tone for your particular business. Picking the right font can take time, it’s more a process of elimination. Try out different fonts and see which one fits your site the best. Do I even need to add that a font like ‘wingdings’ should just never be used on any website.

3. Colours

A good colourway is needed for an attractive website. Again, like with fonts, you need to pick an appropriate one for your business. If your business has a logo (which it should) then your companies colours are usually found there. These are the colours your company is associated with. For example, if your logo use lots of red, then add splashes of red to your site here and there.

4. Graphics

Use graphic icons on your site to make it look more appealing and friendly. Simple things like a little telephone or email graphic in a contacts section can look a lot better than just the words ‘Telephone’ and ‘Email’. You can include clickable icons in your menu bar or just visual ones in the main body of the site.

Improving the appearance of your website is the first step in running a successful online business. Never overlook the importance of web design in the 21st century. With so many websites out there it’s so easy just to fade into the background. With an attractive, modern, website you can break free and stand out from the crowd!
