Your business needs for telecommunications today extend beyond a simple PBX system.

You need a wide range of telecommunication technology, and you need them bundled together so that there is no conflict between them. The following are a few technologies that will help and how they will help.

1. Voice Over Internet Protocol

VoIP is a technology that allows you to combine your internet with your phone system. This has many advantages. The first is that your employees can easily speak long distance from anywhere in the country or even the world. All they need is an internet connection. This technology also allows for local calls as well. Because it integrates with other communication devices, adding extra features to your system is lower in cost than what you likely have now. Generally, VoIP is lower in cost to operate than a traditional communications system.

2. Hosted PBX

A traditional office phone system has all of its lines run through a central exchange that is physically located somewhere on your company’s property. You can, however, have this exchange hosted remotely. All of your calls are routed through this system. There are many advantages to doing this. An obvious one is that you are not at the mercy of the PBX breaking down. If something should happen to your phone system, you have to wait until a serviceman comes out to your property to fix the problem. During this time, you will not have any phone service. Another great advantage is that it is scalable. When a business begins to expand, it puts a lot of pressure on the phone system. New lines need to be added, so a technician must visit your property to install more lines. When you have hosted PBX, it only takes a phone call to get more phone lines for your business.

3. Cloud Computing

The ultimate telecommunication technology can be found with cloud computing. This technology allows you to eliminate the need for servers in your business. You no longer need to store large amounts of data, nor worry about backing up your data. All of this is done for you, and all of it is done securely. Your employees can access all of the data and programs they need, and since all of this is done on the internet environment, they can access everything they need wherever they have a connection to the internet. This adds mobility to your computing system while bringing down the cost of hardware and maintenance.

All of the technologies above are available separately, but there are integrated business telecom solutions as well.
