Marketing is all about being remembered. Consumers trust a name that sticks in their brain, such that when they’re in the market for relevant services, your name is at the forefront of their mind. There are a ton of strategies geared toward being memorable, and a lot of them work. One of the good strategies is utilisation of promotional products.

What Are Promotional Products?

Promotional marketing can range from those little pens with business names on them, to backpacks, to travel mugs to, well, anything you can put a logo on. And unlike a straight business card, there is a practical purpose to promo products. A good promotional product is something someone could, and would, use on a regular basis.

What Is The Value Of Promotional Marketing?

Value is something that is always hard to pin down. Promotional marketing, or really any type of marketing, is about reaching potential customers. So in a way, the perceived value of promotional products will be about what you put into them.

We’re not just talking about putting time into picking a good promo; it’s about effective distribution of that item.

Wait, Effective Distribution?

Promo Marketing is most effective when it is geared towards your target market. For example, if you own a roofing company, distribute your promotions in arenas where people already have an interest in needing roofing, like at an industry-related convention. Trying to set up a booth at, say, ComicCon is going to be much less effective since the people who go there aren’t already primed to be interested in looking at roofers. In other words, there may be a few scattered attendees at ComicCon who would get value out of your visibility.

Don’t Be Afraid To Think Outside The Box

Pens are great. But there are oodles of possibilities available. Want to be economically conscious? Acquire eco friendly promotional products. They cost a bit more, but you’ll know they’re less damaging to the environment.

A kind of promotion that is growing in popularity are giveaways on social media. Get a bunch of cool items with your logo and give them away to people who click “like” or share the post. Not only will the winners get something cool, but your company’s social media page gets shared and seen by a lot of people.

If you’re going to a convention, consider promotional items which would be useful to a convention-goer. Even in air-conditioned buildings, conventions are hot because of the amount of people crammed into the space. You know whose booth gets really popular? The booths giving away fans and water bottles always have people around them. People will see other people cooling down using an item with your logo and will hunt your booth down.
