It’s always a good idea to take regular short breaks when you’re working. You can only concentrate properly for short periods of time and if you try to carry on for longer without taking a quick 5 minute break, the quality of your work will suffer. The only problem with that is people often take a break intending to get back to work in 5 or 10 minutes but before they know it, they end up getting distracted and half an hour passes. That’s not a very efficient way to work, especially if you’re doing it multiple times a day. What you need is a short activity that you can do for 5 minutes and then get back to work again. There are all sorts of things you could do but if you’re already sat at your desk on a computer, why not play some games? 1. GeoGuessr

Geoguessr is a great game that you can play on your computer and you only need a couple of minutes to play a round. It’s a very simple game but you can have hours of fun with it. The way that it works is you’re shown a picture from somewhere in the world on Google maps. You then have to work out where in the world that place is and mark where you think it is on the map. The closer you get, the more points you’ll get.

It’s so simple to play and it only takes seconds to play each go so even if you’re just having a 2 minute break, you can still have a go. It’s also a great social game to play with people around the office or with your friends because you can compare scores and there is a challenge mode that you can play against other players from around the world.

2. Casino Games

If you want to find something to do during your break and possibly win a bit of money while you’re at it, casino games are perfect. There are plenty of quick games like roulette or blackjack that only take a couple of minutes to play and you never know, you might end up winning a bit of extra cash during your break. But if you like the idea of a similar game that you can finish in 10 minutes, Dicewars is perfect. It’s the same game on a smaller board, condensed so gameplay doesn’t take long at all.
